Trabzon Ahi Evren Chest, Heart, and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital

Trabzon Ahi Evren Chest, Heart, and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital

Our hospital consists of two sections, Block A and Block B. Block B was opened in 1956 and served as a chest diseases hospital.

Block A functioned as a medical faculty between 1970 and 1986. After the medical faculty moved to its new building in 1986, the block remained vacant for a certain period and was later repurposed as a Health Vocational High School in 1990. In 1999, it was planned to become a Cardiovascular Surgery Center to serve Trabzon and the surrounding provinces, and its renovation was completed between December 20, 2001, and December 20, 2007. On January 19, 2009, it began operating as Ahi Evren Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital and was officially inaugurated on January 23, 2009.

On February 29, 2009, our hospital was granted the status of a Training and Research Hospital, receiving accreditation to provide specialization training in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery.

As of October 1, 2009, with its merger with Trabzon Chest Diseases Hospital, it was renamed Trabzon Ahi Evren Chest, Heart, and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital.

Since April 29, 2016, it has been operating as Ahi Evren Chest, Heart, and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital under the University of Health Sciences.

As of 2022, it continues to operate under the name Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health Ahi Evren Chest, Heart, and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital.
